Josh Minogue Returns to Hopperland
11th January 2023
The North Albury Football Netball Club is delighted to welcome back talented junior Josh Minogue for the next two Ovens and Murray seasons.
Josh returns to Bunton Park 9 years after debuting as a 17 year old in 2014, a year in which he claimed the Ovens and Murray rising star award, notching 16 games and booting 31 goals.
At just 26 years of age, Minogue has quickly developed the extensive footy resume since leaving hopperland at the end of 2014:
- Murray Bushrangers representative 2015.
- Williamstown VFL 2016-2018, playing 1 senior VFL game.
- Heidelberg 2019-2022.
- Northern Football League Team of the Year 2021 and 2022.
- Runner-up Heidelberg Best and Fairest 2021, 5th in 2022.
- Heidelberg leading goalkicker 2021 (34) and 2022 (54).
- Equal 3rd in Northern Football League Rosbrook Medal 2022
- Heidelberg premiership player 2022
New North Albury Senior Coach Tim Broomhead said the club was ecstatic to welcome Josh back to the Hoppers.
"We're very excited to have Josh back on board for 2023 and 2024. He's coming off a really strong year at Heidelberg where he was a key member of their premiership winning team. He's arguably in career best form right now. "
Broomhead said he expects Minogue to spend most of his time up forward in the green and gold.
"He will bring great experience to our young group. He will probably spend most of his time as a focal point in attack but he has the ability to play in a variety of positions which is a real strength of his."
"To get a North junior back to the club as a 1 pointer, it's a great way to kickstart 2023 that's for sure."
Minogue becomes the Hoppers 8th off season signing, with Layton Taylor, Jack Reynolds, Cayden Winter, Nathan Dennis, Tom Anderson, Jamo Bouffler, Nick Lockhart all putting pen to paper on two year deals.
The Hoppers will kickstart their 2023 campaign on Saturday, April 9 against Wodonga at Martin Park.
Bring on 2023. GO GO GO!
